pattern lavender socks

Lavender Socks, nearly knee high

Size – 38 or 4, medium size, 10 in from toe to and of heel.

What we need is

Yarn – 2 (3) ball of CYGNET Wool Rich 4Ply MAUVE 1048, 75% wool, 25% polyamide, 205 m/50g ball (I did use only 2 balls but just with little left over, so if you are responsible and thoughtful knitter have one more, or shorter socks)

Needles – set of double pointed needles US 0 or 2mm

                 tapestry needle for Kitchener stitch on the end

                 if you using stitch markers, what I don’t

                 stitch holder, which I don’t using either, but I have it

Tension – 18stch X 20row to 5 cm (2in)

CUFF

Cast on 80 sts, each needle has 20 sts, easy for pattern too

1^st round K2, p2

Repeat 16 row, or 3,5cm or 1,5in

ANKLE

PATTERN

Worked across 19 sts plus 1 stitch

1^st round K3, k2tog, k4, yon, p1, yon, k4,sl 1, k1, psso, k3, p1= 20 sts = 1 needle

2^nd and every alt rounds K9, p1, k9, p1

3^rd round K2, k2tog, k4, yon, k1, p1, k1, yon, k4, sl1, k1, psso, k2, p1

5^th round K1, k2tog, k4, yon, k2, p1, k2, yon, k4, sl1, k1, psso, k1, p1

7^th round K2tog, k4, yon, k3, p1, k3, yon, k4, sl1, k1, psso, p1

8^th round K9, p1, k9, p1

Repeat this 8 round.

I repeated 16 times or desire length

HEEL

Redistribute sts – you can pass your sts on stitch holder or left on needles. 

For making heel we will using  39 sts from 1knited st on the pattern and on the 3^rd needle to the last knitted st on the pattern on 4^th needle (the purl st move on 1^st needle, we won`t need it now) All 39 sts move on one needle it is easer.

I did choose this kind of heel because you can continue in lace pattern without thinking about decreasing and also you use less wool. I know because tried.

After finish knit the pattern, only knit 5 round,

Repeat in every round till you have 16 stitches on the front and back (8 on each needle). Move stitches on two needles only front and back and by using tapestry needle finish sock with Kitchener stitches
